Charles Seerey is a Northern California–based artist whose abstract paintings draw on art historical influences while reflecting a distinctly personal vision. Through an exploration of pattern, balance, and color, he creates rhythmic compositions that convey both structural presence and movement.
His work is driven by a search for vibrant, nuanced color relationships. By balancing color, form, and texture, Seerey constructs paintings that are at once energetic and refined. The resulting works sustain a dynamic tension—where visual vibration and compositional unity exist in equilibrium—inviting sustained engagement and discovery.
Originally from Oklahoma City, Charles lived in New York, Texas, and New Mexico before moving to Northern California in 1992. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art from Stephen F. Austin State University.
